GA nomination failed
[edit]I've failed this nomination mainly per the "broad" GA criteria. For example, there is only one sentence on his life outside football - not a great biographical article...surely there's more information out there about him than that! A few other things - the article uses heaps of football jargon (eg. "Rather than kick the extra point for the tie, Timberlake carried on the option to the right, but was tackled one foot short of the goal line, and two points short of an undefeated season") which means absolutely nothing to someone like me - especially with no wlinking so we can read other articles explaining the terms. "Early in an October 24th game against the Cleveland Browns" - Dates need wlinking throughout, and "th" shouldn't be used. Leave a note on my talk page if you've got any questions or anything. — Dihydrogen Monoxide 00:21, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
GA on hold comments
[edit]After some grunt work (dashes, other MoS issues, etc.) here we go:
- The "Early years at Michigan" section is quite short, so I wonder if it merits its own heading or should be integrated with the 1964 season section. by User:Cbl62 --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 14:20, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- I also question if the numerous sub-headings in the "1964 season" section could be condensed. by User:Cbl62 --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 14:20, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- The article uses large numbers of quoted material throughout, a large portion of which could be converted to standard prose.
- Check for overlinking.
- Are there any more relevant images?
Other than that, looks well-written and comprehensive. Kakofonous (talk) 21:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Even though some of my comments weren't addressed, in retrospect this looks like a GA.
